Tickford Capri
Produced by a company called Tickford which was associated with Aston Martin. The Tickford Capri was first shown to the British Public at the 1982 British Motorshow. The car was only available in the UK and only 100 of these were ever sold, mainly due to the high price tag.
Although the Car was based around the Mk3 2.8i capri, Tickford turbocharged the engine to produce an estimated 205Bhp. This gave the car a top speed of 138mph and a 0-60 time of 6.3 seconds.
Cosmetically the tickford was also changed. The bumpers from the Mk3 model were dropped and instead replaced with molded Panels. Many of the body panels were also replaced with fibre glass including the rear panels and the very distinctive side skirts.
The interior of the car was also transformed, deep pile carpeting, re-trimmed interior with top quality connolly leather and highly polished wood vaneer. Electric mirrors were also an option.
Due to the very low number of Tickfords produced the Tickford is a sought after model by capri enthusiasts and continue to hold a high value.
